The Doge's Palace in Venice hides beneath its pompous institutional chambers a network of secret passages and rooms that you can discover on this private tour following the traces of Venice dark history.

These secret passages lead from the Pozzi -the dark humid cells for the worst criminals on the ground floor - following a maze of stairs, through the secret state chancellery and up to the Piombi, the "Leads" where wealthier criminals were imprisoned.

One of the most famous inmates of the Piombi was the famous Venetian womanizer Giacomo Casanova whose spectacular escape - story you will hear while standing in the very same prison cell where this charming Venetian was held captive for more than a year.

Before discovering the fascinating escape of Casanova you will have the chance to see the most feared room of the Doge's Palace: The torture room, where numerous suspects were questioned using psychological and physical violence.

Length: 1 hour

Excluded: The tour price does not include the entrance ticket to the Doge's Palace Hidden Passages.

Adults: €32/person

Students: €20/person

Languages: English, German

The access to the hidden passages is limited and can only be organized on request.
