Nice to meet you, my name is Beatrice

I am a licensed tour leader (2015) and tour guide (2018) in the beautiful city of Venice, speaking German, English, French and Italian.
It all started during my university studies (Romance Literature and Linguistic) in Austria when I got the chance to participate in an Erasmus exchange program bringing me for a year to beautiful Angers in France. However, wanderlust got worse and after graduating from University with a master’s degree, I decided to start a new adventure in Canada: With all my belongings on my back, I discovered the Canadian "wideness" and "wilderness" before settling down for work in Montreal.

I am the guy who writes all the interesting posts about Innsbruck which you can find on our social media!

I’ve spent my whole life so far in the beautiful city of Innsbruck, Austria. Writing about Innsbruck allows me to rediscover my hometown and learn about its historic locations and buildings.

It’s my mission to discover Innsbruck together with all the people who decided to follow our site. When writing a post, I try to keep it short and concise, without sacrificing the important information. A joke or pun might also find their way into a post!

Let’s discover Innsbruck together!

My vision is to offer more inclusive and tiny group activities. This idea was born thanks to my work experience as a tour leader (2015) and tour guide (2018) in Venice: When I conducted for the first time an accessible barrier-free tour in Venice, I met a lady from the United States on vacation together with her daughter. The joy of the mother and daughter to finally see the hidden corners of Venice during a barrier-free tour showed me that the needs of some travellers were not completely considered.

I want to change that by offering inclusive (barrierfree, familyfriendly,...) tours in small groups, that respect the local community.

Back in Europe, I moved to Venice and meditated on how to combine my passions (languages, reading, culture, art) with my career.

The solution? I decided to participate in the governmental exams to become a licensed tour leader and tour guide sharing my love for Venice and its off-the-beaten-track spots with travellers.
My long experience in tour guiding and tour organization showed me the big gap of authenticity and quality between big group tours (more than 20 persons) and private small tour experiences, coming to the conclusion that only private tours permit visitors to discover the city of Venice  in a non invasive, authentic way. My vision is to offer more inclusive and private activities, including tailor made experiences, according to the wishes and interests of the clients.
I conduct and organize private tailor made tours since 4 years in Venice, designing the experience especially according to the wishes and interests of my clients: I created treasure hunts for families, tours mixing history and legends, ... with the goal in mind to involve my clients actively in the tour by using for example quizzes and objects. Furthermore I conduct and organize barrierfree citytours in Venice and to the islands giving also visitors with mobility impairments the possibility to enjoy this wonderful city, as Venice is actually largely accessible barrierfree. With my new project "UnfoldTravel" I wish to offer off the beaten track & inclusive city tours that make you fall in love with Venice.

Curious and sociable, I studied foreign languages, even Esperanto, because I wanted to communicate and see the World. I’ve recently fallen in love with modern art and architecture. During my tours I love showing the “wow” places, but also to give you an idea of the Serenissima and its society, a world apart.

I’ve always been fascinated by different cultures, to the point that they’ve become the leading force for my soul. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge of Venice, the city where I was born and raised: there’s nothing better for me than telling its legends, anecdotes and history to those would like to share their path in this unique city with me!

A decade ago love brought me from the snowy peaks in Innsbruck to the glittering lagoon of Venice. I love to walk along the "sconte" (side streets in Venice), discovering with travelers the less known jewels and their history, mixing in Venetian history and legends.

Born from Venetian father and English mother I was raised in Venice and have always been the artist of the family. After studying painting during high school I specialised in art history and I love to keep learning and discovering art in every form and place, weather it’s in a museum, a palace or a secret corner of the lagoon.
