Discover the many faces of Giudecca: the traces of industry, the magnificent religious monument of the Redentore Church and a green oasis, an idyllic monastery garden.

Hear about the origins of Giudecca as an island for exiled Venetians, before entering the calm side streets following the last traces of the important industrial buildings that made the islands wealth, attracting international investors starting from the 19th century.

Enter the calm atmosphere of a former monastery used today as a workshop by local craftsmen and -women, before continuing to the area where once watches were created by the most renowned and biggest company in the world.

Step into the famous Redeemer's Church, where light is the uncontested main character and that becomes the main protagonist in one of the most important festivities in Venice: Since more than 400 years Venetians remember each and every year the end of one of the worst plague epidemics that claimed more than 50.000 victims in the city.

Top it off with a visit to a hidden and idyllic monastery garden where you will take in the sun setting over the lagoon, while sipping a delicious coffee.
